Delivery Specialist

Job Overview

O'Reilly Auto Parts is seeking a Delivery Specialist responsible for safely operating company vehicles to deliver automotive parts and products to professional customers. This role involves handling vehicle maintenance, managing customer transactions including C.O.D., and picking up returns while maintaining excellent customer communication.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive company vehicles to efficiently deliver parts and products to customers.
• Utilize delivery fleet management handheld devices for processing deliveries, obtaining customer signatures, and completing daily vehicle inspections.
• Maintain cleanliness and conduct regular inspections of delivery vehicles before operation.
• Secure delivery vehicles, keys, fuel/fleet credit cards, handheld devices, and collected monies at all times.
• Collect customer returns such as new items, warranties, and cores, documenting appropriately with driver return slips.
• Communicate any delivery challenges or special customer requirements to store management.
• Report any vehicle maintenance needs, accidents, or damages to the store manager immediately.
• Ensure fuel tanks are filled and vehicles are securely locked at the end of the workday.
• Follow company protocols for clocking in and out.
• Perform additional duties including customer service, stocking, merchandising, running errands, handling core returns, and assisting with cashier or merchandising tasks as needed.

Qualifications and Skills

• Must possess a valid state driver's license and comply with company driving eligibility and point record standards.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with customers and team members.
• Ability to quickly recognize and match alphanumeric sequences.
• Adaptability to changing delivery conditions and situations.
• Familiarity with automotive parts is preferred.
• Skilled in operating light store equipment is desirable.
• Bilingual abilities, especially in Spanish, are strongly encouraged.

Compensation and Benefits

Position offers an hourly wage ranging from $16.90 to $24.90, meeting or exceeding applicable local minimum wage requirements. Additional pay through annual or quarterly performance bonuses and premiums may apply based on schedule, facility, season, or specific job tasks.
