Deli Team Member

About the Role

Join our deli team at the New Town Hill Street location, where your passion for food and excellent customer service will be valued. This role involves preparing and serving a variety of fresh deli products including meats, seafood, cold cuts, salads, antipasto, ready-to-eat meals, and pastries. You will also maintain fresh and attractive displays, offer product recommendations, and provide samples to customers.

Responsibilities

• Serve customers by preparing fresh meat, poultry, fish, cold meats, smallgoods, salads, antipasto, ready-to-eat meals, and pastries.
• Maintain fresh and inviting deli displays.
• Recommend deli products and offer tasters to customers.

Candidate Requirements

• Positive, friendly attitude paired with excellent communication skills.
• Comfortable handling both cooked and raw meat and seafood.
• Enjoy engaging with customers and collaborating as part of a team.
• Proactive, energetic, and eager to learn.
• Commitment to following food safety and workplace health and safety guidelines.
• Available for ongoing daytime shifts 3-4 days weekly, including every alternate weekend, with rosters tailored to availability and operational needs.
• Physically capable of lifting and standing for the entire shift.

Additional Information

This opportunity starts as a casual position with the potential for permanent employment based on performance. Previous experience in a deli setting is preferred but not mandatory as training will be provided. Compensation

Hourly wages are set according to the General Retail Industry Award with the following 2026-27 base rates for Level 1 adults:

• Weekdays: $34.76 per hour (casual)
• Saturday: $41.72 per hour (casual)
• Sunday: $48.67 per hour (casual)
