About the Role
Starting as a meat delivery service in Stellarton, Nova Scotia, our company has expanded to include over 128,000 team members working at corporate and franchise stores nationwide. Operating under various banners such as Sobeys, Safeway, IGA, Foodland, FreshCo, Thrifty Foods, and Lawtons Drugs, we form one large family dedicated to serving communities across Canada.
Please note that this position is within an independently owned and operated franchised or affiliate store.
Responsibilities
- Follow all regulations related to food safety, operational protocols, health and safety standards, as well as company policies and initiatives.
- Deliver excellent customer service to meet the specific needs of customers.
- Maintain cleanliness and presentation standards in the work area.
- Efficiently handle and process customer deli orders.
- Execute merchandising plans and promotional programs to display products effectively.
- Prepare and manage deli product handling duties.
- Boost sales by actively recommending and promoting products.
- Assist in training newer or junior team members.
- Manage ordering and receiving of stock following company inventory guidelines.
- Process and account for department shrinkage accurately.
- Ensure the work environment is kept safe and sanitary as required by company standards.
- Perform any additional duties as assigned.

- Capability to work independently within a dynamic, fast-paced setting.
