Overview

The Decorator Operator role at Crown Arabia Can Company Ltd involves managing the operation and upkeep of can decorating machinery to ensure premium printing quality on metal cans. The operator must follow production timelines and maintain quality benchmarks.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and oversee high-speed can decorating equipment such as feeders, coaters, and ovens to deliver optimal performance and quality output.
• Perform machine setup, make adjustments, and execute changeovers in line with production orders and specifications.
• Carry out in-process quality inspections including verifying color accuracy, print alignment, and detecting defects; adjust machinery as needed to uphold standards.
• Troubleshoot and fix minor mechanical and operational issues to reduce equipment downtime.
• Conduct scheduled or as-needed preventive maintenance on decorating machines.
• Handle loading and unloading of raw materials (inks, coatings, cans) and finished products.
• Keep thorough production documentation covering downtime, waste, and output figures.
• Comply strictly with safety guidelines and wear required personal protective equipment.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the workspace.
• Communicate production or quality-related concerns effectively with supervisors, maintenance staff, and team members.

Qualifications and Requirements

• High school diploma or its equivalent.
• Prior experience in machinery operation within manufacturing, preferably in printing or can production.
• Mechanical skills including basic troubleshooting and adjustment capabilities.
• Keen attention to detail with an ability to assess color quality and printing precision.
• Ability to read and interpret production orders and specifications.
• Basic proficiency with computers for data entry and machine controls.
• Capacity to work efficiently in fast-paced and repetitive task environments.
• Physical fitness to stand for prolonged periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and operate in environments potentially involving noise, heat, and chemicals.
• Flexibility to work rotating shifts, including nights and weekends as needed.
• Strong commitment to upholding safety procedures and quality standards.
