Job Overview

The Debug Technician role involves diagnosing and repairing hardware and software problems in electronic devices to maintain optimal performance. This position requires identifying defects, conducting tests, and implementing repairs using test protocols, electrical schematics, technical documentation, diagnostic routines, and component datasheets to isolate issues in components, parts, and subassemblies.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage all non-conforming materials by controlling, documenting, and processing them appropriately.
• Set up and operate testing equipment following standard test procedures rigorously.
• Provide technical assistance throughout manufacturing to support functional testing activities.
• Contribute to the development of procedures for new products.
• Support engineering teams by assisting in implementing new testing tools and providing ongoing support.
• Comply with ISO standards and specific job-related procedures strictly.
• Participate as required in quality assurance and client meetings.
• Ensure the quality of work-in-progress is maintained effectively.
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the work area and surrounding environment.
• Train colleagues when necessary.
• Undertake any other assignments as directed that support business objectives.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Proven industry experience relevant to the role is essential.
• Proficiency with the Linux operating system.
• Familiarity with various debug testing tools is required.
• Strong understanding of Failure Mode Effective Analysis processes.
• Good knowledge of the Material Review Board (MRB) process and how to implement MRBs.
• Ability to interpret and utilize assembly documents including D-Trees, schematics, bills of materials, visual aids, and debug and test procedures.
• Competency in Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Solution-oriented mindset, exercising sound judgment and decision-making abilities.
• Proven track record in establishing effective working relationships within teams and with external vendors.
• Capable of working independently and cooperatively in a fast-paced, matrixed environment involving internal and external teams.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an adaptable approach to shifting priorities and deadlines.
• Excellent planning, organization, and time management skills to handle multiple projects and prioritize effectively.
• Flexible in providing support to meet the demands of a global organization.

Location and Travel

This position is based in Dublin, Ireland, and does not require any travel.

Compensation and Benefits

The expected salary range for this role in Ireland is between €43,000 and €54,000 annually. The final offer will reflect the candidate's relevant knowledge, skills, experience, and education, aligned with business needs.
