Overview
The Derbyshire Discretionary Fund supports local Derbyshire residents facing financial hardship or exceptional pressures by providing aid based on specified criteria. The team also identifies additional local support options that may benefit applicants.
We are looking to appoint a dedicated individual to join our team to evaluate and decide on applications to the Discretionary Fund. This role offers the opportunity to be part of a dynamic and welcoming team focused on addressing community needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess applications submitted to the Discretionary Fund thoroughly according to established guidelines.
- Make well-informed decisions independently within the prescribed framework.
- Identify other relevant local assistance programs that may support applicants.
- Work collaboratively with internal council staff and external agencies, maintaining clear and effective communication.
- Manage and prioritize caseload efficiently to meet demand.
Candidate Profile
- Exceptional communication skills for interacting professionally with both the general public and professionals within and outside the Council.
- Proven experience and proficiency in conducting financial assessments.
- Strong organizational skills to handle multiple priorities effectively.
- Ability to exercise independent judgment within established guidelines.
