Job Overview
This role demands advanced expertise in managing and optimizing various database technologies including Oracle, SQL Server, Exadata, and MySQL. The ideal candidate is responsible for ensuring high performance, security, and availability of databases while implementing cutting-edge solutions to support organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee Oracle database administration with a focus on performance tuning, security measures, high availability solutions like Data Guard, and comprehensive backup and recovery processes including RMAN.
- Manage Exadata systems by handling storage configurations, leveraging In-Memory technology, and optimizing network infrastructure for superior performance.
- Administer Microsoft SQL Server environments emphasizing query optimization, security best practices such as Always Encrypted and role-based security, as well as disaster recovery using Always On Availability Groups.
- Expertly maintain MySQL databases focusing on query efficiency, secure access protocols, replication setups, and reliable backup techniques like mysqldump.
- Continuously monitor emerging database technologies and security practices to ensure systems remain current and robust.
- Design and implement scalable, secure, and efficient database solutions; engage in capacity planning and troubleshoot bottlenecks.
- Lead design and enforcement of comprehensive database security policies across multiple platforms including Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, and Sybase.
- Develop automation scripts for routine database management tasks, monitor health and performance, and resolve complex operational issues.
- Follow governance protocols, assess risks, and contribute to policy development in collaboration with management.
- Engage actively in change management, ensuring database changes are meticulously planned, communicated, executed, and reversible if necessary.
Candidate Requirements
- A minimum of 7 years’ experience as an Oracle Database Administrator.
- Proficient in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), Exadata, Real Application Clusters (RAC), Data Guard, and GoldenGate technologies.
- Demonstrated expertise in database migration and performance tuning across enterprise environments.
