Database Administrator

Position Overview

The role is for an experienced Database Administrator specializing in Microsoft SQL Server, primarily supporting university-related data systems. The ideal candidate will oversee database management, optimization, and security tailored toward the education sector, with a strong focus on applications aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP).

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Manage and optimize SQL Server databases to ensure high performance and reliability.
• Handle backup, recovery, and security procedures for the databases.
• Create, maintain, and refine Crystal Reports along with other database-driven reporting tools.
• Develop and enhance SQL queries, stored procedures, views, and functions for efficient database operations.
• Monitor database health and troubleshoot any issues that arise.
• Support applications and data systems tailored to the university/education domain, especially those relating to NEP requirements.
• Design and implement foundational academic scoring and marking systems within the database environment.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Expertise in managing Microsoft SQL Server environments.
• Strong proficiency in database administration and SQL query optimization.
• Hands-on experience with Crystal Reports development and maintenance.
• Proficient in writing complex SQL constructs: queries, stored procedures, views, and managing indexing and backup strategies.
• Experience designing and deploying marking or scoring systems for academic use.
• Prior involvement in university domain projects and familiarity with NEP-driven educational data systems.
• Good analytical capabilities and problem-solving skills to handle database and application issues.
