Data Scientist

About the Role

We are recruiting on behalf of a partner company of Haystack for a Data Scientist position that involves creating and deploying advanced data science solutions across multiple sectors, such as medical technology, elevators, automotive, and product testing.

Key Responsibilities

• Developing and applying data science strategies tailored for diverse business units.
• Designing, improving, and implementing full cycle Large Language Model (LLM) solutions focusing on conversational AI, prompt engineering, retrieval pipelines, and ensuring safety compliance.
• Maintaining and optimizing existing deployed models by monitoring quality metrics, latency, cost-effectiveness, user feedback, and troubleshooting problems as they arise.
• Engaging collaboratively with agile, cross-disciplinary teams that include other data scientists, software engineers, and domain specialists.
• Creating prototypes, testing new methodologies, and benchmarking innovative data science techniques.
• Exploring trends and advancements in managing unstructured data, including optical character recognition (OCR), document analytics, and embedding technologies.

Candidate Profile

• Holds a university degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related technical discipline.
• Brings at least four years of practical experience utilizing data science methods in corporate or consultancy environments.
• Demonstrates extensive proficiency with contemporary AI tools, especially Large Language Models (LLMs) and generative AI frameworks targeted at business applications.
• Possesses strong Python programming skills with a solid grasp of software engineering foundations.
• Exhibits exceptional communication skills and is adept at autonomously leading projects from start to finish while effectively working with non-technical colleagues.
• Experience with information retrieval methods, such as Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), is beneficial.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Azure cloud services and Azure DevOps workflows is considered advantageous.
