About the Role
A prestigious professional services firm seeks a talented and inquisitive early-stage Data Scientist or AI Scientist to enhance its expanding Data & AI division. This vacancy is particularly suited to individuals with a doctoral degree or an intensive academic background in areas such as Data Science, Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning, Statistics, Mathematics, or Computational Linguistics.
The successful candidate will engage in pioneering projects involving advanced machine learning methods, natural language processing (NLP), Generative AI, and large language models (LLMs), applying innovative techniques to resolve complex business and knowledge-centric challenges.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and implement models based on machine learning, NLP, and statistical methods.
- Utilize large language models, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), embedding techniques, and information retrieval technologies.
- Customize and deploy models such as BERT, Llama, and Qwen for practical applications.
- Design AI workflows incorporating prompt engineering, chaining, and NLP pipelines.
- Examine extensive data sets to uncover trends, insights, and irregularities.
- Develop visualization tools and analytical outputs understandable by non-specialist stakeholders.
- Produce scalable, thoroughly documented, and reproducible data science solutions.
- Keep abreast of the latest advancements in Generative AI, deep learning, NLP, and machine learning.
Candidate Profile
- A PhD is strongly preferred in a quantitative or technical field.
- At least two years' experience in data science, AI/ML, or research of comparable rigor.
- Proficient in Python, R, and SQL programming languages.
- Solid foundational knowledge in machine learning, statistical analysis, and data modeling.
- Hands-on experience with libraries and frameworks such as scikit-learn, pandas, PyTorch, or TensorFlow.
- Familiarity with NLP methods, LLMs, RAG, embeddings, and information retrieval technologies is highly advantageous.
- Demonstrated strong academic credentials combined with a keen interest in advancing AI technologies.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex topics clearly.
- Experience within legal or professional service sectors is beneficial but not mandatory.
