Role Overview
Join TikTok's team as a Data Scientist focused on integrity and safety to utilize data science techniques in protecting content, user privacy, and platform security. You will contribute valuable data insights toward initiatives involving video and live content safety, account protection, privacy adherence, and moderation systems to enhance the overall safety experience for millions globally.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and maintain core metric frameworks related to content safety and risk assessment, including content violations, user-reported issues, and account risk detection.
- Develop monitoring tools and anomaly detection mechanisms for timely identification and analysis of security incidents, supporting risk alerts and policy adaptation.
- Use statistical methods such as A/B testing, causal inference, and regression analysis to assess security policy effectiveness, delivering quantitative evidence for business decisions and continuously refining experimental designs.
- Create quantitative analysis systems addressing specific business challenges by employing data mining to uncover optimization avenues; collaborate with product, operational, R&D, and algorithm teams to translate findings into improvements that boost platform safety.
- Innovate and document data analysis approaches by crafting reusable analysis frameworks and tools, contributing to team capability enhancement; assist in designing and iterating data products to provide efficient, accessible data services for business units.
Required Qualifications
- At least 2 years' experience in data science, preferably with a background in internet or content platform safety.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in statistics, data science, economics, mathematics, or related disciplines.
- Strong proficiency with SQL and data analysis languages/tools like Python or R; excellent data visualization skills.
- Understanding of common machine learning algorithms and methods including causal inference and A/B testing.
- Proven logical thinking, analytical problem solving, effective communication, and cross-team collaborative capabilities.
Preferred Experience
- Background in content security, integrity, or risk management is advantageous.
