About Fospha

Fospha is focused on developing the most advanced measurement solutions for online retail, helping teams make smarter decisions through comprehensive marketing insights, forecasting, and optimization for over 10 years. The company empowers teams to act faster and achieve smarter growth.

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Data Scientist to join our Data Science team based in London. Fospha specializes in marketing measurement tools for ecommerce brands, including attribution, marketing mix modeling, incrementality testing, and brand impact evaluation. The Data Science team manages the entire modeling lifecycle from conceptual methodology to production code, maintaining and expanding the technology stack behind these solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead full-scale production projects independently, from scoping through development to deployment, without relying on externally specified tickets.
  • Select and apply appropriate modeling techniques across Fospha's product suite such as attribution and incrementality testing, while staying current with industry advancements.
  • Debug and resolve issues autonomously within diverse and unfamiliar codebases.
  • Leverage AI tools to expedite coding tasks, unblock cross-team dependencies, and build automation workflows that increase team efficiency.
  • Collaborate closely with Quality Assurance, utilizing existing automated tools and identifying improvement areas.
  • Serve as the technical modeling expert communicating confidently with clients and internal teams, including delivering tough feedback regarding metrics.
  • Mentor colleagues by reviewing code, critiquing methodologies, and assisting less experienced team members with their tasks.

Required Qualifications

  • Demonstrable commercial experience in data science with 3 to 5 years successfully delivering production-ready models.
  • Proficient in machine learning across various algorithmic families, exercising sound judgment to select suitable approaches for differing problems.
  • Advanced skills in Python and SQL, capable of leading production-level coding standards.
  • Strong problem-solving aptitude, capable of debugging independently across unfamiliar repositories, effectively using AI assistance.
  • Excellent fluency with AI tools to accelerate workflows while maintaining high quality and scrutiny over AI-generated outputs.
  • Confident and autonomous communicator with technical stakeholders and clients.
  • Emerging leadership qualities with a desire to coach and support junior data scientists.
  • Self-driven with initiative to plan and accept responsibility for own work.
  • Meticulous attention to detail, particularly in validating quantitative outputs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in Bayesian hierarchical modeling.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS.
  • Knowledge of automated QA processes and testing coverage.
  • Background in marketing, ecommerce, or advertising data analytics.

Career Growth and Company Culture

You'll join at the Career level in Fospha's well-defined Data Science Career Development Framework, which clearly outlines expectations and progression milestones. The company values consistent contributors who demonstrate strong problem-solving, communication, mentorship, and initiative. Progression to advanced levels involves broader project ownership, collaboration with product teams, and representing Fospha externally.

Why Work at Fospha

  • Engage in deep methodological work like Bayesian attribution, MMM, geo lift testing, and causal inference as core responsibilities.
  • Opportunity to lead methodology selections and own modeling approaches.
  • Transparent career path with clear criteria for advancement.
  • An environment that emphasizes rigorous peer review of code and methodology.
  • Direct impact on client budget decisions for well-known ecommerce brands.
