Role Overview

We are seeking a seasoned Senior Data Scientist / Data Science Manager to spearhead advanced AI and data science initiatives. This prominent client-facing role demands deep technical expertise, strong business insight, and excellent consulting capabilities. The ideal candidate will not only implement solutions but also critically analyze business needs, challenge norms, offer fresh perspectives, and recommend optimal technical strategies.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead complex AI, data science, and generative AI initiatives from conceptualization through deployment.
• Translate business challenges into tailored AI/ML models, architectures, and use cases that add measurable value.
• Assess various technical options and recommend solutions based on feasibility, scalability, and performance aligned with business goals.
• Ensure project quality and successful delivery while focusing on tangible client outcomes.
• Monitor and communicate risks, constraints, and trade-offs effectively to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Engage directly with clients to deeply understand objectives and challenge assumptions when beneficial.
• Provide expert guidance on AI, machine learning, generative AI, and AI agents applicability to business problems.
• Design and oversee implementation of generative AI and AI agent solutions, including selecting appropriate models, tools, and frameworks.
• Keep abreast of developments in generative AI, large language models, and agentic AI, integrating relevant advancements into client solutions.
• Offer technical mentorship and leadership to data scientists and project teams, promoting best practices and collaboration.
• Partner closely with data engineers, consultants, cloud specialists, and clients to deliver integrated solutions.
• Contribute to Artefact’s growth by enhancing AI methodologies and capabilities.

Qualifications and Experience

• Extensive senior-level experience managing and delivering complex AI and data science initiatives.
• Master’s degree in machine learning, computer science, mathematics, engineering, statistics, or a related quantitative field.
• Robust hands-on expertise in machine learning, data science, and AI technologies.
• Practical knowledge of generative AI, large language models (LLMs), and AI agent architectures.
• Proven ability to convert business challenges into effective AI/ML solutions, selecting suitable models and approaches.
• Deep understanding of data processing, modeling techniques, algorithms, and data architecture.
• Preferred experience in consulting or client-facing roles.
• Strong familiarity and experience with Microsoft Azure ecosystem and Azure AI/data services is a significant advantage.
• Competence in leading technical discussions independently and advising senior-level stakeholders.
• Experience mentoring or providing technical leadership for data science teams highly valued.
