Data Product Manager

Role Overview

Take charge of managing the product backlog by prioritizing, refining, grooming, and preparing it for sprint execution. Lead sessions for backlog refinement and sprint grooming to ensure user stories are clearly defined, properly sized, and linked to key business objectives. Collaborate with Engineering teams to set and meet sprint commitments, balancing new feature rollout with ongoing Run-the-Business (RTB) activities and production support.

Core Responsibilities

• Constantly assess trade-offs related to scope, urgency, risk, and value to make informed sprint and release decisions.
• Support Run-the-Business operations by participating in testing, wireframing tasks, and driving User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
• Deliver and enhance features by representing customer needs and converting them into scalable solutions.
• Create and maintain detailed product requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and functional design documents.
• Collaborate closely with Engineering, QA, and Business teams to oversee delivery, UAT, defect prioritization, and readiness for product releases.
• Facilitate business-led pilots and Proofs of Concept (POCs), gather requirements, provide product insights, and plan UI or workflow changes as needed.
• Maintain ownership of admin tools by managing queries, addressing bugs, and implementing feature enhancements to improve operational efficiency.
• Document system processes, data flows, and functional artifacts comprehensively.
• Assist service management through incident triage, change management, and coordinating release activities.
• Effectively communicate with stakeholders across Business, Engineering, Operations, and Leadership to negotiate priorities, manage expectations, and align delivery plans.
• Demonstrate end-to-end ownership by identifying issues, evaluating impacts, mobilizing resources, and driving resolution promptly.

Candidate Qualifications

• Possess 4 to 7 years of IT experience, including a minimum of 4 years in Product Management roles.
• Strong capability in drafting clear user stories, functional requirement documents, and acceptance criteria.
• Excellent communication, analytical problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
• Comfortable and adaptable in dynamic, fast-paced environments with competing priorities and changing requirements.
• Educational qualifications required: B.Tech, B.E., B.C.A., M.C.A., or M.Tech in any specialization.

Preferred Skills

• Familiarity with tools such as Jira, Confluence, or equivalent platforms.
• Experience balancing feature development with maintenance and production support activities.
• Basic knowledge or interest in Artificial Intelligence (AI) is advantageous.
