Job description
Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled Data Infrastructure Engineer to join our client's team on a full-time, remote basis. This position entails designing, constructing, and sustaining scalable data pipelines and infrastructure. You will collaborate closely with various teams to deliver robust data solutions that enable effective business analytics and decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and enhance data pipelines for efficient extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) of large datasets.
- Develop and manage data warehouses and lakes to support both analytical and operational reporting needs.
- Work alongside data scientists and analysts to guarantee data accessibility and preserve data integrity.
- Monitor performance of data pipelines, identify issues, and implement solutions to ensure dependable and efficient operations.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of data architectures, workflows, and standards for team use and regulatory compliance.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Advanced proficiency in SQL and experience working with both relational and NoSQL database systems.
- Hands-on experience with ETL/ELT tools such as Apache Airflow, Apache Spark, or equivalent frameworks.
- Strong understanding of data modeling concepts and best practices in warehouse design.
- Familiarity with cloud computing platforms like Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud Platform (GCP), or Microsoft Azure for building and managing data infrastructure.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities focused on scalability and performance optimization.
