About the Role
We seek a meticulous Data Entry Executive to monitor inventory at our gold manufacturing unit. This position is vital for preserving precise digital records of raw gold, semi-finished products, and completed jewelry throughout the production cycle. Given the high value and need for traceability of precious metal stock, accuracy is essential.
Primary Duties
- Input and revise daily stock movements (including gold bars, findings, stones, and finished jewelry) into ERP or inventory management systems such as Tally, SAP, or proprietary jewelry ERP software.
- Log details regarding purity (karat), weights (gross, net, stone weights), and wastage for each production batch accurately.
- Keep stock ledgers updated for raw material allocated to craftsmen and received back post-manufacturing.
- Perform cross-verification of physical inventory against system data and promptly report any inconsistencies.
- Prepare regular stock reports on daily, weekly, and monthly bases for management review.
- Update product identification codes, tags, hallmark details, and barcode or QR code information.
- Support stock audits, physical counts, and reconciliation processes.
- Maintain paperwork for inter-departmental stock movements such as melting, casting, polishing, setting, quality control, and dispatch.
- Ensure confidentiality of sensitive gold inventory information at all times.
- Collaborate with production, purchasing, and accounting departments to confirm data integrity.
- Organize and file physical documents including vouchers, challans, and stock registers.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Educational minimum: Graduate degree in any field; commerce background preferred.
- Professional experience: 1 to 3 years in data entry, ideally within jewelry manufacturing, gold processing, or a related environment handling valuable inventory.
- Immediate availability or capability to join within short notice.
- Competent with MS Excel features such as VLOOKUP and Pivot Tables; familiar with ERP/inventory software usage.
- Strong numerical precision and focused attention to minute details critically important for handling purity and weight data.
- Basic knowledge of gold purity standards (24K, 22K, 18K), measurement units (grams, carats, tolas), and hallmarking procedures.
- High typing speed combined with accuracy.
- Trustworthy with a strong sense of confidentiality regarding sensitive stock data.
- Effective communication skills to interact with production staff.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous work experience in jewelry manufacturing units or bullion trading businesses.
- Familiarity with BIS hallmarking standards and related compliance documentation.
- Experience using barcode or RFID-based inventory tracking systems.
