Enhance is transforming the fitness sector by merging advanced technology with tailored training options. We are a leading accredited personal trainer provider in the GCC, offering adaptable, one-on-one sessions via our Enhance Fitness app that can be conducted at home, gyms, or outdoor spaces. Our technology branch, Enhance Tech, has created an effective personal trainer management platform that streamlines operations and enhances trainer productivity. Trusted by over 500 trainers, this SaaS platform assists fitness centers and gyms worldwide in expanding their personal training offerings through data-driven capabilities.

Role Overview

Enhance is seeking a Data Engineer to be based in Dubai who will develop pipelines and a platform that consolidate data from our products and partner gyms into a unified, dependable repository. This position is integral to powering personal training for gym operators globally through our business-to-business SaaS solution that supports gym chains with PT sales, scheduling, and management, as well as operating PT services within partner gyms themselves.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and manage data pipelines involving batch and near-real-time extraction from app databases, partner gym systems, payment processors, and external APIs feeding into our data warehouse.
  • Develop robust reusable integrations to onboard new gym partners rapidly ensuring data consistency and alignment with our standards.
  • Take full ownership of the data platform, overseeing warehouse management, storage, and orchestration, guaranteeing scalability, speed, and cost-efficiency as we expand.
  • Enhance data integrity by implementing monitoring systems, alerts, testing, and quality assurance; proactively addressing pipeline issues prior to dashboard presentation.
  • Ensure data security through stringent access controls, secure handling of personal data, and compliance with relevant privacy and data protection legislations across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Support the analytics team by delivering well-documented, clean staging and raw datasets ready for modeling.
  • Drive improvements in engineering processes, including embracing version control, code reviews, continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD), and infrastructure as code practices.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical discipline.
  • Between 3 and 5 years of relevant data engineering experience focused on building and operating live data pipelines.
  • Proficiency in Python and SQL.
  • Hands-on experience with workflow orchestration tools like Airflow, Dagster, or Prefect.
  • Experience with cloud-based data warehouses such as BigQuery, Snowflake, or Redshift, and familiarity with major cloud providers including AWS, GCP, or Azure.
  • Skills in extracting data from APIs, relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL), and file systems.
  • Understanding of data modeling, ELT processes, and data quality assurance techniques.
  • Experience with version control systems (Git) and continuous integration/continuous deployment tools.

Preferred Additional Skills

  • Master’s degree in a technical field.
  • Experience with streaming data technologies and change data capture tools, such as Kafka, Kinesis, or Debezium.
  • Familiarity with dbt and data ingestion tools like Fivetran or Airbyte.
  • Knowledge of infrastructure as code using Terraform and containerization via Docker or Kubernetes.
  • Background in developing integrations tailored for B2B SaaS or multi-tenant environments.
  • Understanding of data privacy regulations such as UAE PDPL or GDPR.
  • Arabic language skills are advantageous but not mandatory.
