Data Engineer

Role Overview

We seek a skilled Data Engineer with extensive proficiency in Splunk administration and engineering tasks to join our team in Dubai. The candidate will be responsible for managing data pipelines, optimizing search queries, ensuring compliance with data standards, and delivering insightful visualizations.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer Splunk environments including indexing management and search performance tuning.
• Onboard various data sources, apply normalization, and maintain adherence to the Common Information Model (CIM).
• Design and develop dashboards, reports, and alerting mechanisms within Splunk to support operational needs.
• Understand and implement Splunk architecture strategies related to clustering and scaling to maintain system robustness.
• Analyze and resolve performance bottlenecks and operational issues within Splunk platforms.
• Automate routine tasks and workflows using scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Ensure that solutions align with security policies and compliance requirements applicable to data engineering and analytics.

Required Skills

• Hands-on experience with Splunk administration, including indexing and search optimization techniques.
• Expertise in data onboarding processes and normalization consistent with CIM standards.
• Strong ability to develop effective dashboards, reports, and alerts inside Splunk.
• In-depth knowledge of Splunk architecture, particularly clustering and scalability strategies.
• Proficient troubleshooting skills addressing performance-related issues.
• Advanced scripting capabilities in Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation.
• Awareness of security and regulatory compliance factors in data analytics environments.

Preferred Certifications

• Certified as Splunk Enterprise Administrator.
• Certified as Splunk Core Architect.
