Data Center Technician

Key Responsibilities

• Execute hardware diagnostics and troubleshooting using standardized procedures, quickly pinpointing and addressing faults to minimize disruption.
• Conduct quality assurance checks post-hardware deployment ensuring proper grounding, staging, labeling, and cabling per safety protocols and Network Design Tasks (NDTs).
• Carry out hardware removals for upgrades or refreshes like memory updates with minimal supervision, adhering to standard guidelines.
• Effectively communicate and escalate incidents to data center operations management, Technician Leads, and engineering teams as necessary.
• Support and guide fellow technicians in managing complex tasks.
• Complete ongoing trainings relevant to role functions and gain practical experience through observation and hands-on learning.
• Promote teamwork by sharing insights in meetings, asking questions, and staying informed about team activities.
• Take ownership and pride in service quality, facility integrity, and user experience.

Requirements

• Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent with foundational understanding of computer hardware and components.
• Experience in supporting IT equipment or related technology is necessary.
• Ability to successfully complete specialized security screenings including the Microsoft Cloud Background Check at hiring and biannually.
• Preferred: 2 or more years experience supporting IT or related hardware.
• Preferred certifications include CompTIA A+, Server+, Network+, and Basic Structured Cabling (BSC).

Additional Information

This role requires passing security clearances as per Microsoft and regulatory policies. The position will remain open for at least five days and will accept applications continuously until filled.
