This permanent full-time position, based in Naas, County Kildare, Ireland, is for a Data Architect within OpenSky Data Systems' Data Intelligence Practice. The role involves working with cutting-edge Microsoft Data AI technologies such as Microsoft Fabric, Azure AI, Foundry, and Purview. The Data Intelligence Practice works at the forefront of Microsoft technology and partners with leading AI research institutions like CeADAR (Ireland) and the Alan Turing Institute (UK). Key Responsibilities

• Architect end-to-end data and AI solutions using Microsoft tools including Microsoft Fabric, Fabric IQ, Purview, and Azure AI.
• Provide technical consultancy to clients on data architecture, AI strategies, and technology roadmaps.
• Lead technical design and deployment processes to ensure adherence to best practices and quality standards.
• Implement data governance frameworks using Microsoft Purview to comply with GDPR, NIS2, and ISO27001.
• Manage data integration from diverse sources to enable smooth data flows throughout the organization.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into effective technical solutions.
• Keep abreast of latest Microsoft Data AI advancements and incorporate innovative approaches to solve complex problems.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams including data engineers, scientists, and business analysts for comprehensive solution delivery.
• Develop and maintain architectural documentation, data models, and technical specifications.
• Contribute to proposal writing and tender responses by aligning data and AI strategies with client needs.
• Guarantee solution quality through thorough testing and validation efforts.

Candidate Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or closely related field.
• At least 5 years' experience as a data or solutions architect focusing on Azure Synapse Analytics or related platforms, handling ETL/ELT processes, data integration, machine learning, and generative AI implementations.
• Proven multitasking and project management skills with solid knowledge of GDPR and NIS2 compliance.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, plus excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experienced in client-facing roles providing expert advice on data architecture and AI strategy.

Essential Skills

• Deep expertise in solution architecture using Microsoft Azure Synapse Analytics and Power BI.
• Proficiency with Microsoft SQL Server, T-SQL scripting, and database design concepts.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric, Purview, or strong Azure data platform experience including Synapse, ADF, and Data Lake with interest to adopt Fabric.
• Advanced knowledge of Azure Data Factory, SSIS, and Azure storage solutions.
• Experience with programming languages like Python or C# for automation and scripting.
• Skilled in designing data warehouses, lakes, and star schema data models.
• Competent in deploying DevOps processes with Azure DevOps, GitHub, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Understanding of big data design patterns, data integration, and best practices.
• Ability to analyze complex and unstructured data efficiently.
• In-depth knowledge of data governance, quality, and compliance standards.
• Experience leading technical teams and mentoring juniors.

Desirable Skills

• Practical experience implementing Microsoft Fabric and Purview in client projects.
• Microsoft certifications such as Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate, Fabric Data Engineer Associate, Azure Data Scientist Associate, Azure AI Engineer Associate, Power BI Data Analyst Associate.
• Experience with Azure Machine Learning, AI Studio, and Azure AI technologies.
• Expertise in Microsoft Purview and Fabric solutions.
• Working knowledge of the Microsoft Cloud Adoption Framework.
