Data Analyst

Role Overview

Synapse Business Systems seeks skilled Data Analysts to contribute across various functions including dashboarding and business intelligence, data modeling, quality assurance, and analytics that support client objectives. The role involves partnering closely with both business and technical teams to convert data into actionable insights for decision-making. Task assignments will align with the candidate's expertise and previous experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Create, develop, and sustain interactive dashboards, comprehensive reports, and data models that enhance business decision processes.
• Compose and refine complex SQL queries in enterprise data environments to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
• Transform business needs into precise analytical outputs that can be practically applied.
• Engage collaboratively with diverse stakeholders including teams from business, engineering, product, risk, and compliance depending on the project requirements.
• Maintain high standards of data integrity, consistency, and compliance with governance policies.
• Effectively communicate findings, visual reports, and actionable recommendations to relevant stakeholders.

Required Skills and Experience

• A solid 3 to 7 years of relevant experience in fields such as Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, Data Engineering, or Data Science.
• Expertise in advanced SQL, including complex joins, common table expressions (CTEs), window functions, and query tuning.
• Proficient with at least one BI or data visualization tool such as Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik.
• Demonstrated ability to manage relationships with stakeholders and develop analytical solutions catering to business needs.
• Working knowledge of Python or equivalent scripting languages (R, PySpark) applied to data manipulation, automation, or analytics tasks.

Preferred Additional Skills (Any One)

• BI & Dashboard Development: Skills including DAX, Power Query, Power BI Report Builder, row-level security setup, dashboard optimization, and experience with Snowflake or Azure Databricks.
• Data Modeling & Architecture: Familiarity with dimensional modeling, data vault techniques, dbt, semantic layer design, and data governance practices including data lineage.
• Data Quality & Test Engineering: Expertise in validating ETL processes, conducting data reconciliation and profiling, implementing automated testing frameworks, and CI/CD methodologies.
• Analytics & Data Science: Knowledge of statistical methods like regression and segmentation, designing A/B tests and experiments, exposure to machine learning, and experience in product or e-commerce analytics.
• Analytics Leadership & Consulting: Experience in interacting with client executives, managing teams and projects, and mentoring team members.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in a quantitative discipline such as Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving capability, and effective communication skills.
