Role Overview
This permanent full-time position located in Wellington offers the opportunity to transform health-related data into actionable insights to improve the wellbeing of people across Aotearoa New Zealand. The salary midpoint is $82,061 per year, with actual pay dependent on experience. After 12 months of service, a wellness allowance is provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and analyze health and linked administrative datasets to support reporting and data-informed decision-making.
- Identify patterns, trends, and extract meaningful insights from large datasets to influence policy and operational choices.
- Conduct statistical analyses, prepare data for examination, and interpret complex results.
- Present findings effectively through various formats including written reports, presentations, and data visualizations.
- Engage with colleagues and stakeholders to understand their data needs and collaborate towards better health outcomes.
Skills and Attributes Required
- A strong curiosity and genuine interest in leveraging data to address real-world health challenges.
- Excellent analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities accompanied by eagerness to expand knowledge.
- Competence in working with data to discern meaningful trends and insights.
- Experience in, or a readiness to learn, technical tools such as SQL, R, or Python for data analysis.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills with the ability to explain complex information clearly to diverse audiences.
