Data Analyst - Finance Reporting

Role Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Data Analyst with more than 5 years in data analysis, financial reporting, dashboard creation, and data visualization. The ideal candidate should have extensive hands-on experience in Power BI and Tableau. A strong aptitude for understanding and analyzing financial data is essential, along with the ability to interpret contracts and extract critical business and financial insights.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze complex and sizable datasets to identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights for the business.
• Create and manage comprehensive financial and management reports and maintain data dashboards.
• Devise interactive and visually engaging dashboards using Power BI and Tableau platforms.
• Convert finance and business requirements into expressive reports and data visualizations.
• Conduct data validation, reconciliation, and perform quality checks to ensure the precision of reports.
• Generate both scheduled and ad-hoc financial and operational reports for various stakeholders.
• Provide insight-driven analysis of financial data to support strategic decisions.
• Design, develop, and upkeep KPI dashboards and performance reports.
• Engage with stakeholders to gather reporting requirements and ensure delivery of accurate data solutions.
• Review, interpret, and analyze contracts, agreements, and their terms.
• Extract key financial, commercial, and operational data points from contractual documents.
• Identify contractual obligations, timelines, financial terms, and other pertinent data relevant to business processes.
• Work closely with Finance, Business, and other functional teams to enhance reporting mechanisms and dashboard usability.
• Spot opportunities to automate reporting and streamline related processes.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience in Data Analytics, Business Analytics, Finance Reporting, or related areas.
• Proficient with Power BI and Tableau for dashboard development and data visualization.
• Strong foundation in finance reporting concepts and data handling.
• Hands-on experience in data analysis, validation, and reconciliation for accurate reporting.
• Capability to interpret complex data and communicate it effectively.
• Good understanding of contract analysis and reading.
• Excellent analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to manage stakeholder expectations.
• Advanced MS Excel skills are a plus.

Preferred Skills

• Experience collaborating with Finance, Procurement, Commercial, or Business Operations teams.
• Familiarity with creating executive-level dashboards and management information system (MIS) reports.
• Knowledge of SQL or other data querying languages/ tools.
• Hands-on experience in reporting automation and process optimization.
• Understanding of financial and commercial contracts is advantageous.

Educational Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Data Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field.
• MBA/PGDM or relevant certifications are considered beneficial.
