This role requires collaboration with HR, Payroll, IT, and implementation partners to investigate and resolve data quality issues while supporting migration, validation, and reconciliation activities using advanced data engineering platforms and ETL tools.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze, profile, cleanse, and transform HR data to prepare it for migration into Workday.
- Design and maintain repeatable data processing and transformation workflows through SQL, scripting, and appropriate data engineering or ETL tools.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to identify and resolve data quality issues.
- Create data mapping, transformation rules, and comprehensive documentation supporting the migration process.
- Validate and reconcile data during mock migrations and production data loads to ensure integrity.
- Enhance data quality standards, migration procedures, and data management practices.
Candidate Skills and Experience
- Proven expertise in analyzing, profiling, cleansing, transforming, and validating intricate data sets, especially in migration or system implementation contexts.
- Advanced data analysis abilities, strong proficiency in SQL, and capacity to handle large and complex datasets.
- Hands-on experience with data processing, ETL frameworks, and scripting for automating repeatable workflows.
- Comfortable working with relational databases and handling structured data types like Excel, CSV, JSON, and XML.
- Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, meticulous attention to detail, and excellent communication skills to work effectively with both technical and business teams.
- Familiarity with HR and Payroll data and practical knowledge of Workday or other enterprise HR, Payroll, or ERP systems is advantageous.
About the Team
The Transformation and Improvement team contributes significantly by driving successful programme delivery and refining business processes. This extended programme encompasses multiple university functions including HR, Digital, and Finance, presenting the chance to work on a highly visible and complex transformation.
