Job Overview

We are seeking an imaginative and dynamic Dance Choreographer to instruct and inspire students across varying age brackets. The role involves designing captivating dance routines, leading regular practice sessions, and preparing students for various school performances such as annual day celebrations, competitive events, and cultural programmes.

Key Duties

• Design and deliver original dance routines tailored to diverse age groups and skill levels.
• Instruct students on dance techniques, rhythm, coordination, and stage presence.
• Create choreographies that align with themes, music selections, occasions, and the capabilities of students.
• Conduct scheduled dance lessons and meticulous rehearsal sessions.
• Prepare students for events including annual day functions, cultural showcases, contests, and special school occasions.
• Demonstrate dance steps clearly and offer precise guidance and corrections.
• Organize group configurations, transitions, stage movements, and sequencing of performances.
• Encourage growth in confidence, discipline, creativity, collaboration, and stage skills among students.
• Adjust choreographies to fit individual physical abilities and limitations.
• Collaborate with teaching staff and administration for effective event planning and performance logistics.
• Support selection of music, costumes, formations, and stage requirements when necessary.
• Ensure discipline and maintain a safe environment during all dance activities.
• Stay current with emerging dance styles, techniques, and trends.
• Deliver constructive feedback and motivate students to enhance their abilities.

Candidate Qualifications and Skills

• Preferably a diploma, degree, or certification in Dance, Performing Arts, or a related discipline.
• Demonstrable experience as a Dance Teacher or Choreographer.
• In-depth understanding of one or more dance genres such as classical, western, contemporary, Bollywood, hip-hop, folk, jazz, or similar styles.
• Outstanding choreography and performance capabilities.
• Strong musicality, rhythmic sense, coordination, and stage awareness.
• Effective communication and class management skills.
• Able to engage and work effectively with children and adolescents.
• Creative, energetic, patient, and enthusiastic demeanor.
• Good physical condition and endurance.
• Capability to work cooperatively with educators and event teams.

Experience Requirements

• Ideal candidates possess approximately 25 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in an educational institution is advantageous.
• Candidates showcasing robust portfolios in performance and choreography are also welcome.
