Role Overview

The Dam Technician position offers an outdoor-oriented role focused on the operation and maintenance of dam structures. This role involves hands-on work within Auckland's remarkable natural environments and plays a vital part in maintaining the safety and reliability of water supply systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain crucial headworks structures to ensure safety and functionality.
• Facilitate clear communication and provide operational assistance to maintain uninterrupted water supply services.
• Maintain hydrological networks to meet performance standards and aid informed operational decisions.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate enjoys outdoor practical work, is confident around water environments, and possesses strong technical skills.

• Holds a relevant technical qualification or equivalent practical experience.
• Possesses a current full New Zealand driver's licence.
• Preferably holds a tertiary qualification in Engineering or Science (not mandatory).
• Has experience in similar settings with a strong emphasis on water safety.
• Comfortable using computer systems and databases.
• Demonstrates effective problem-solving abilities and the capacity to think quickly.
• Can work independently while supporting a collaborative team environment.
