Overview
Models often produce code that superficially appears secure but actually contains hardcoded secrets, broken authentication checks, or injection vulnerabilities overlooked by linters. Your role will be to distinguish between mere security theater and genuine defenses.
As a Cybersecurity Expert, you will test cutting-edge models for unsafe code and exploit avenues, evaluate their understanding of real security threats, and author guidance that instructs future models on what true security entails.
Key Responsibilities
- Examine models for vulnerabilities related to authentication, cryptography, input validation, and secret management, identifying places where their security advice fails.
- Assess the quality of the models' security reasoning compared to real-world standards, identifying superficial measures, missing checks, and confidently incorrect solutions.
- Provide correct and secure solutions when models err, detailing the threat model and trade-offs involved.
Suitable Backgrounds
Ideal candidates often come from security engineering or cyber warfare analysis roles.
Qualifications and Experience
- Proven professional experience in security engineering, defensive cybersecurity operations, or offensive security activities.
- Strong aptitude for analyzing real-world threats including authentication, cryptography, injection vulnerabilities, and management of secrets.
- Excellent written English communication skills to clearly convey explanations that serve as training data.
- No formal degree is required; demonstrated skills and capability are what matter.
Compensation and Work Conditions
The role offers hourly pay up to $125 or more depending on task complexity and specialization. Many contributors earn between $100,000 to $200,000 annually, with some making this their primary source of income.
Work is flexible and remote, with opportunities to engage in multiple projects. Payouts happen weekly.
