Cyber Security Assurance Manager

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Cyber Security Assurance Manager to oversee security assurance processes for secure networks, cloud infrastructures, and UK Defence-related projects based in London. This role is ideal for a governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) focused cyber security expert with prior UK Ministry of Defence (MOD) experience, who will be responsible for managing security frameworks, performing risk assessments, and ensuring compliance in a highly secure environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Take charge of security assurance activities across secure network systems and cloud platforms.
• Administer risk assessments, maintain security frameworks, and manage compliance documentation.
• Ensure all activities align with MOD security standards, including Defence Standard 05-138 and the Cyber Security Model.
• Perform audits, monitor and facilitate remediation efforts, and assist with external security assessments.
• Provide expert advice to stakeholders regarding security risks and relevant regulatory compliance requirements.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Demonstrated cyber security expertise within UK MOD or broader Defence sectors.
• In-depth understanding of Defence Standard 05-138, Defence Cyber Protection Partnership (DCPP) Cyber Security Model, and National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) guidelines.
• Proven experience in governance, risk management, compliance, and security assurance disciplines.
• Strong communication abilities and competence in managing multiple stakeholders.
• Security clearance at the SC (Security Check) level is mandatory.
