Job description
Job Overview and Responsibilities
The role involves managing the start-up and shutdown of CVD diamond machines according to specified recipes. You will be responsible for monitoring process parameters such as vacuum, pressure, temperature, and gas flow. Safe handling of gases including hydrogen (H₂), methane (CH₄), nitrogen (N₂), and oxygen (O₂) is critical. Familiarity with components like mass flow controllers (MFC), pressure controllers, valves, and gauges is required. Observing plasma conditions during the process and noting any irregularities in color, plasma behavior, temperature, or other parameters is also part of the role. Accurate maintenance of production logbooks or ERP entries and conducting inspections and reporting every six hours is expected.
Preventive Maintenance
- Perform routine cleaning of machines and chambers.
- Inspect vacuum lines and valves, including checking O-rings and seals.
- Carry out basic checks on MFCs and sensors, along with verifying electrical connections.
- Monitor the cooling water system and pneumatic systems for proper function.
- Conduct basic inspection of compressors, dryers, and gas lines.
- Follow the preventive maintenance checklist diligently to ensure optimal equipment performance.
Breakdown and Troubleshooting
The operator should possess the skills to diagnose common faults, including but not limited to:
- Failure of vacuum to reach operational levels.
- Instability in pressure readings.
- Abnormal MFC readings impacting gas flow.
- Valve operation issues such as opening or closing faults.
- Temperature sensor malfunctions.
- Problems with plasma ignition.
- Alerts related to water flow or cooling system failures.
- Electric trips and alarm signals from sensors or interlocks.
