Job description
Role Overview
The Cut Floor Person is responsible for promptly removing condemned products from all floor areas, ensuring walkways, drains, and standing water remain clear. Compliance with USDA, OSHA, and company standards is mandatory.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Locate and quickly remove condemned products located near major walkways, drains, and areas with standing water.
- Transport such products to the designated condemned product containers.
- Use hand-held water brooms for floor cleaning as required.
- Monitor and maintain unobstructed flow of drains within the production area.
- Actively participate as a team member by contributing to communication, development, and application of team initiatives and policies.
- Coordinate work ensuring adherence to B.E.S.T. practices and attend relevant team meetings.
- Support team cohesiveness and promptly address issues through collaboration with team leadership and members to achieve organizational synergy.
- Understand and uphold Simmons’ operating systems concerning quality, security, work environment, and company policies.
- Perform additional tasks necessary to meet the organization’s business goals, demonstrating flexibility and creativity within the role.
Physical and Work Environment Requirements
- Perform occasional stair and ladder climbing, pushing and pulling activities.
- Frequent twisting of the neck and waist, kneeling, grasping, lifting/carrying weights up to 50 pounds.
- Constant walking, standing, bending at neck and waist, squatting, fine hand manipulation, and repetitive shoulder, arm, and hand motion.
- Must efficiently operate in a production plant environment.
- Use standard personal protective equipment including waterproof gloves, sleeves, and hearing protection.
Additional Information
No travel is required for this position. Technical experience is not necessary, but familiarity with processing plant operations is desirable. Military veterans are encouraged to apply.
