Position Overview
Under the supervision of the Brokerage Manager, the Customs Rater is tasked with managing and verifying documentation from Importers, Freight Forwarders, Airlines, and Transport companies. This includes entering data into the Delmar system, updating existing files, and creating new ones as necessary. The role involves proactive communication with importers to gather required documents and collaboration with customs and freight departments to deliver high-quality service to clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Verify and input documentation from multiple sources into the official system.
- Update or create shipment files accurately and timely.
- Request missing documents from importers to ensure completeness.
- Collaborate closely with customs and freight teams to support client needs.
Qualifications and Requirements
- 1 to 2 years of experience involving customs and transportation operations.
- Familiarity with local and national brokerage procedures and customs regulations.
- Understanding of customs import rules, freight forwarding processes, and Harmonized System tariff classification.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts as required.
