Role Overview
As a Customer Services Officer, you will serve as the initial contact point for community members, offering information, resolving inquiries, processing payments, and handling service requests related to diverse Council activities. You will collaborate internally to deliver effective administrative assistance, ensuring positive experiences, fostering trust, and upholding excellent service standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet and assist customers at service counters and over the phone, responding to inquiries, requests, and complaints.
- Handle payments, applications, and registrations with speed and accuracy.
- Provide timely administrative support to various Council departments.
- Maintain precision in recording and managing customer data.
- Create a professional and welcoming environment in the Customer Service Centre.
- Enhance community engagement by respecting cultural practices and nurturing strong relationships.
Candidate Profile
You are an approachable, solution-oriented professional who excels in busy, interactive settings. You possess strong communication and interpersonal abilities, manage multiple tasks efficiently, and deliver courteous, effective service.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Experience in customer service roles, call centers, or frontline services (experience in local government is advantageous).
- Proficiency in cashiering duties and Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong focus on detail, accuracy, and time management.
- Excellent communication skills paired with a genuine desire to assist others.
- Positive, proactive mindset with the capacity to stay composed under pressure.
