Customer Service Technician

Overview

We have a rewarding opportunity for a Customer Service Technician to join the Vistry Cornwall South West team. In this role, you will deliver outstanding customer care to Vistry clients and customers, adhering to contract guidelines and helping us uphold our 5-star builder reputation. Your responsibilities include providing technical advice, assisting office teams, conducting repairs, and ensuring jobs are completed promptly, ideally on the first visit.

Essential Responsibilities

• Perform remedial work in both occupied and unoccupied properties as directed by the customer service team
• Plan and prioritize daily tasks, ensuring materials are gathered before appointments
• Complete repair work to a high-quality standard consistent with NHBC/LABC/Premier expectations and finishes
• Support customer-ready inspections and closed-site duties as needed
• Collaborate with Area Managers and partners to resolve end-of-defect period issues
• Report on quality concerns related to subcontractor work
• Work closely with the Customer Service Manager and coordinators as part of the team
• Maintain safety and cost-efficiency while seeking ways to reduce expenses and enhance standards

Qualifications and Skills

• Proven ability to deliver excellent customer service in fast-paced, demanding settings
• Proficiency in general carpentry tasks such as making good, painting, decorating, dry lining, tiling, grouting, and fitting kitchen components including doors and cabinets
• Basic plumbing knowledge and skills to diagnose plumbing faults
• Experience applying mastic and sealants in line with NHBC finishing standards
• Keen attention to detail and finishing quality
• Ability to build positive relationships with customers and stakeholders and effectively manage their journey
• Strong communication abilities and composure under pressure
• Excellent planning, time management, and prioritisation
• Valid full driving license with readiness to travel

Preferred Attributes

• Formal qualification in carpentry
• Background experience in construction or housebuilding
• Practical familiarity with NHBC Standards and "A Consistent Approach to Finishes" chapter 9.1
