Job description
Position Summary
This role involves managing accurate cash collections and disbursements within the Collections Department under the supervision of the Treasurer. The position does not include supervisory responsibilities over other staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle payment collections and address public inquiries at the front service window.
- Manage collection-related questions through telephone communications.
- Research and prepare refunds related to tax overpayments.
- Process payments received via mail or lockbox services.
- Provide assistance to other departments when required.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Proficiency in fundamental computer applications including Microsoft Office Suite.
- Professional communication skills for customer interaction.
- Ability to maintain accurate records and compile documentation supporting problem solutions.
- Basic arithmetic skills.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
- At least one year of prior experience in customer service.
