Job description
Overview
We are seeking a Customer Service Assistant to join our One Stop team, a Tesco subsidiary, located in Beverley. This role involves working in a dynamic retail setting where no two days are the same. You will play a crucial part in daily store operations by delivering outstanding customer service, replenishing stock, managing transactions, and helping maintain the store's presentation. Customer focus is central to this position, with continuous improvement encouraged through on-the-job coaching and feedback. Your leadership will ensure the store remains a safe environment for both customers and staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide passionate and proud customer service, understanding and anticipating customer needs.
- Encourage customer feedback by promoting participation in the "Have Your Say" survey.
- Engage across all store areas including online orders, tills, replenishment, vending, and stock management to fulfill customer needs.
- Apply all training to maintain safety standards within the workplace.
- Participate in seasonal, community, and charitable events to foster an inclusive and welcoming atmosphere.
- Be aware of store performance metrics, understanding your role in achieving profitability.
- Uphold company values, ensure an inclusive environment, and adhere strictly to policies.
- Accurately clock in and out to ensure correct compensation.
- Maintain safety for yourself, colleagues, and customers by following security protocols and wearing safety gear when available.
- Consistently apply the "Think 25" policy when selling age-restricted items.
- Promptly respond to assistance requests and self-checkout interventions, providing clear explanations to customers.
- Keep aisles clear and maintain a clean, tidy, and orderly workspace.
- On occasions, take charge of the store shift in the absence of the Shift Leader and Store Manager.
- Adhere rigorously to training focused on legal, safety, and operational compliance.
- If the store hosts a Post Office Local, duties will include Post Office operations. This requires passing a Post Office financial and criminal background check; failure will result in withdrawal of the job offer.
