Customer Care & Maintenance Coordinator

Role Overview

Regent Homes is seeking a proactive Home Care Coordinator to oversee the post-completion phase for new home clients. The position is ideal for someone with a background in residential trades or construction who wishes to reduce full-time hands-on work while remaining actively engaged in maintenance and repair tasks.

Reporting to the Construction Manager, this role serves as the main point of contact for customers after home handover. It involves coordinating maintenance and warranty issues, managing defects, and personally addressing minor repairs that do not require external tradespeople.

Key Duties

• Act as the primary customer liaison post-handover.
• Manage maintenance, warranty, and defect resolution processes, including trade coordination when needed.
• Conduct minor repairs and maintenance tasks independently when too small for trade involvement.
• Keep customers informed with timely and clear progress updates.
• Work closely with trades, subcontractors, and suppliers to arrange specialist or major repair work.
• Support new home handovers by ensuring prompt defect rectification.
• Perform post-completion inspections and identify defects suitable for direct correction.
• Track maintenance expenses and collaborate with contractors to resolve quality concerns.
• Detect recurring maintenance issues, maintain detailed records related to maintenance, customer satisfaction, and workplace health and safety.
• Ensure all work complies with company policies, Australian Standards, and Building Code regulations, maintaining safety and quality standards.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Experience working in residential trades, construction, maintenance, warranty management, or supervision roles.
• Excellent practical skills with the ability to complete varied minor repairs and defect fixes.
• Good knowledge of residential construction, workmanship standards, and post-handover defect types.
• Strong communication and customer service abilities.
• Ability to efficiently coordinate trades, suppliers, and contractors for specialized tasks.
• A proactive, responsible, and solution-oriented mindset.
• Well-developed organizational skills capable of balancing administrative duties with onsite tasks.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Familiarity with pertinent Australian Standards and Building Code requirements, committed to quality assurance and workplace safety.
