Custodian

Role Overview

The Custodian will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards in and around the company's facilities, adhering strictly to all regulatory and organizational safety protocols and policies.

Primary Responsibilities

• Clean hallways, stairs, breakrooms, and office spaces through sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and vacuuming.
• Wash and sweep interior areas and remove discarded trash regularly.
• Perform general maintenance tasks throughout the entire facility, including warehouse and freezer sections.
• Remove ice accumulation and clear pallet debris.
• Maintain cleanliness of exterior grounds, ensuring they are free from debris.
• Ensure cleaning supplies and equipment are in proper working order, stored securely, and that stock levels are monitored and replenished as needed.
• Operate machinery and equipment used for material handling safely.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Competence in operating floor cleaning machines and pallet jacks.
• Comfortable handling cleaning chemicals safely.
• Basic arithmetic skills.
• Ability to comprehend instructions in the official local language or as specified by the company.
• Capacity to work in varying temperature environments, from as cold as -20°F (-25°C) in cold storage to as warm as 100°F (37°C) in dry storage, while using company-provided personal protective gear.
• Physical ability to lift at least 20 lbs (9 kg), with potential for higher weights depending on the facility.
• Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends if required.
• Tolerance to diverse noise levels, which at times can be loud.
