About the Position

The Oregon Health Authority (OHA) Environmental Services Department at Oregon State Hospital (OSH) is seeking Custodians dedicated to maintaining a clean, healthy, and therapeutic environment for both patients and staff by adhering to strict cleanliness standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Clean and disinfect spills, substances, and accidents promptly.
• Transport bio-hazardous waste and sharps securely to designated storage.
• Disinfect patient wards during infectious disease outbreaks.
• Sweep, dust, mop, and buff hard surface floors.
• Vacuum carpets, address spot cleaning, and remove trash regularly.
• Scrub, rinse, refinish floors; shampoo and extract carpets and upholstered furniture.
• Maintain custodial equipment in good working condition.
• Prepare floors and walls for remodeling or renovation efforts.

Compensation

Positions at OSH offer a 10% pay differential added to the base salary.

Minimum Qualifications

• At least 18 years of age.
• Minimum of six months experience in custodial roles involving operation of necessary equipment.
• Physical ability to push/pull heavy equipment, lift up to 50 pounds, and to crouch, stoop, bend, stand, or walk for up to 90% of the work shift.

Additional Requirements

• Successful criminal background check compliant with OHA standards prior to hiring and ongoing.

Important Information

• Salary range: $3,515 to $3,798 per month (non-PERS qualifying). PERS qualifying employees receive an additional 6.95%.
