Role Summary

The Custodian is responsible for general cleaning both inside and outside Apotex facilities located at the Etobicoke site, including offices, washrooms, locker rooms, production, warehouse, laboratories, and the Engineering Site Office. Winter duties involve using snow blowers and ice melters alongside manual snow and ice removal to maintain safe walkways and entrances.

Key Responsibilities

• Clean office areas by dusting, furniture cleaning, vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, and washing walls and windows; manage garbage and recycling removal.
• Maintain cleanliness and replenish supplies in washrooms and changing rooms.
• Clean warehouse floors, shelves, and walls as appropriate.
• Clean GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) areas including production and packaging zones by washing ceilings, stairs, walls, and floors; restock supplies.
• Maintain cafeteria cleanliness including food preparation areas, freezers, coolers, storage, and coffee brewers; handle garbage and recycling disposal.
• Clean laboratories and replenish supplies as necessary.
• Clean controlled substances vaults, walk-in refrigerators, and dispose of waste according to proper procedures.
• Operate floor polishers, vacuums, floor scrubbers, compactors, and laundry machines using approved cleaning agents following training.
• Adhere strictly to cGMP, SOPs, safety policies, and work in a collaborative, safe manner.
• Demonstrate organizational values such as collaboration, courage, perseverance, and passion.
• Ensure compliance with ethics, quality, safety, environment, and HR policies.
• Perform other related duties as required.

Requirements

• Completion of Grade 12 education.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Proficient English skills including reading, writing, and verbal communication.
• Good interpersonal and physical fitness.
• Effective time management to fulfill assigned tasks.
• Basic computer proficiency for emails and online training.
• Prior cleaning experience is preferred.
• Organizational and prioritization skills are advantageous.

Salary range for this position is from $32,646 to $45,705 annually, with variations based on qualifications, skills, and experience.
