Job Overview

A prominent engineering contractor is expanding its Energy & Transmission & Distribution (T&D) division in Ireland and is seeking a skilled CSA Estimator. This role offers a chance to join a specialized team managing major energy infrastructure projects throughout the country. You will be engaged in preparing precise and competitive estimates for civil packages worth up to 50 million, contributing significantly to the successful execution of high-profile transmission and distribution works.

Key Duties

  • Generate comprehensive cost estimates for civil, structural, and architectural works on Energy & T&D initiatives.
  • Review drawings, tender documents, and specifications to determine project scope and pricing requirements.
  • Create detailed take-offs, cost plans, and bills of quantities accurately.
  • Solicit and assess quotes from suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Formulate competitive pricing approaches for packages valued up to 50 million.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, commercial, and project delivery teams throughout the tendering phase.
  • Identify risks, explore value engineering opportunities, and propose cost-saving measures.
  • Prepare tender submissions, pricing schedules, and relevant documentation.
  • Support bid evaluations, tender adjudications, and clarify queries with clients.
  • Foster solid partnerships with subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
  • Assist with the transition from pre-construction to project delivery upon award of contracts.

Candidate Requirements

  • Demonstrated commercial aptitude in estimating sizeable civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
  • Substantial experience in CSA Estimation, Civil Estimating, or a senior estimating role within civil engineering, utilities, energy, or infrastructure sectors.
  • Thorough knowledge of earthworks, reinforced concrete, structural steel, drainage systems, foundations, and related civil elements.
  • Experience with pricing projects spanning several million euros to over 50 million packages.
  • Strong commercial insight and analytical capabilities.
  • Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
  • Familiarity with estimating software tools and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Excellent communication skills facilitating collaboration among technical and commercial teams.
  • Detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of meeting stringent tender deadlines.
