Credit Analyst

About the Role

The Credit Analyst position involves assessing the financial history and creditworthiness of individuals applying for auto loans or lease financing. This role requires analyzing financial data and credit reports to make informed loan approval decisions that impact the company's risk and profitability.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate loan applications by examining credit reports, income documents, and other financial paperwork.
• Determine applicants' repayment capability considering credit history, income levels, employment stability, and debt-to-income ratios.
• Spot possible risks or concerning applicants and escalate them for additional scrutiny.
• Provide recommendations for loan approvals aligned with established policies and procedures.
• Work closely with sales, operations, and underwriting teams to maintain excellent customer service standards.
• Ensure all evaluations are thorough, well-researched, and follow current policies and guidelines.

Qualifications and Experience

• A bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related discipline is desirable but not mandatory.
• Prior experience in credit underwriting is required.
• Exposure to consumer and commercial lending is advantageous.
• Experience in the auto finance sector is highly valued.
• Strong knowledge of financial statements, credit reports, and risk analysis tools.
• Exceptional attention to detail coupled with solid analytical capabilities.
• Effective communication skills for collaborating with clients and internal teams.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, financial modeling, and other analytical platforms.
