About Babylonia
Babylonia is a controlled-environment agriculture company located in Kozhikode, Kerala. Their expertise lies in developing living walls, indoor farming systems, and the accompanying software platforms. They operate with a small team focused on delivering tangible products.
Position Overview
This full-time onsite opportunity in Kozhikode involves leading all visual aspects for the company. The role requires maintaining and expanding a pre-established design system that includes fixed colours, typefaces, and layout standards without rebranding efforts. The candidate will oversee the visual direction across multiple formats such as product packaging, catalogues, the online store, social media content, motion design, and product photography. Close collaboration with the company founder and leadership over designers, motion artists, and photographers is expected.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain ownership of visual standards encompassing packaging, catalogs, online store, social platforms, and presentation decks.
- Generate briefs for designers, motion graphics, and photographers and critically assess their outputs.
- Adapt and extend the existing design system to new formats while preserving its integrity.
- Create and maintain templates and an asset library to avoid redundant work.
- Ensure the quality of all outgoing materials, including those created by others.
Candidate Requirements
- Minimum of three years' experience in graphic design, branding, or product design.
- Experience in briefing and reviewing work of other creatives beyond personal production.
- Proficient in typography and layout with ability to articulate design decisions clearly.
- Comfortable working within and evolving a pre-defined design system rather than building from scratch.
- Ability to work proficiently across print and digital disciplines including packaging, catalogues, online store, and social media.
- Familiarity with AI-powered tools to enhance productivity.
- A portfolio demonstrating completed commercial projects rather than just concepts.
