About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Bag customers' groceries at checkout, aiming to place at least five items per bag while preventing damage.
• Utilize appropriate bagging techniques for different bag types including reusable, plastic, and paper.
• Assist in removing merchandise from the bottom of shopping carts for efficient checkout.
• Offer assistance to customers with loading groceries into their vehicles.
• Perform basic shelf stocking and conditioning tasks.
• Inform customers about current grocery promotions and specials.
• Return misplaced or leftover products to their proper store locations.
• Collect shopping carts and return them to designated collection points.
• Maintain cleanliness by cleaning spills and picking up trash inside the store and parking lots.
• Clean various areas inside and outside of the store as needed.
• Handle and assemble seasonal merchandise displays.
• Know the store layout to locate products and conduct price checks for cashiers.
• Support safety programs by following safety procedures, identifying hazards, and reporting them to management.
• Comply with all food safety regulations and guidelines.
• Perform preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and reporting repairs to appropriate personnel.
• Create a welcoming environment by answering product-related questions throughout the store.
• Adhere to all applicable laws and company policies.
• Work effectively in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful work environment.
• Manage conflicts calmly and cooperatively.
• Maintain honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
• Follow instructions carefully and seek help when needed to resolve issues.
• Provide support to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults through direct interaction.
• Perform all essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations.

Qualifications

• Strong customer service orientation.
• Good communication skills.
• Previous retail experience is a plus but not mandatory.
