Role Overview

The Courier role involves efficiently sorting, loading, unloading, delivering, and collecting shipments within designated service zones, maintaining high standards of professionalism and cost efficiency while meeting quality service levels for customers and the general public.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain the required DHL uniform on duty at all times.
• Promptly deliver and collect all shipments as scheduled.
• Develop and sustain professional relationships with customers.
• Ensure shipments meet Right Day Delivery (RDD) and Right Shuttle Uplift requirements with no missed pickups.
• Accurately log all shipment activities electronically via scanners or manually if necessary.
• Adhere to special delivery or pickup instructions as required.
• Correctly document and manage any cash transactions received from customers.
• Collaborate proactively with the team to meet shuttle procedures and overall operational targets.
• Report potential sales leads to the sales team and provide feedback regarding shipment profiles or competitor information.
• Communicate changes in customer needs with dispatch and customer service, using initiative to satisfy expectations.
• Keep delivery vehicles clean, tidy, and drive safely while complying with local traffic laws, ensuring personal and public safety.
• Observe DHL Occupational Health & Safety policies and utilize mechanical aids for manual handling to prevent injuries.
• Report any incidents related to personnel, vehicles, or traffic promptly to supervisors.
• Drive responsibly, lawfully, and courteously at all times.

Candidate Profile

• Strong communication skills with fluency in English; Arabic proficiency is a plus.
• Possess a valid UAE manual driver's license with over one year of driving experience.
• Physically capable of handling regular lifting, carrying, loading, and unloading of variously sized and weighted items.
• Exemplary personal presentation, grooming, and hygiene standards.
• Good knowledge of local areas and the ability to work under diverse weather conditions.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads effectively.
• Proven track record of providing outstanding customer service and focus.
• Familiarity with safe manual handling techniques and occupational health and safety awareness.
• Ability to perform well under pressure in fast-paced, time-sensitive environments.
• Demonstrated problem-solving skills using initiative and judgment, alongside attention to detail.
• Experience following operational procedures diligently.
