Country Head - Institutional FX

About the Company

Our client is a well-established international financial services firm with an extensive presence across global markets. It is actively expanding its footprint in Asia and seeking to appoint a Country Head for Singapore focusing on the institutional foreign exchange (FX) business.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the establishment, development, and expansion of the firm's Singapore presence.
• Formulate and implement business strategies for the region, prioritizing growth in institutional FX services.
• Generate new business opportunities and sustain senior-level relationships with institutional and corporate clients in Singapore and wider Asia.
• Advocate the firm’s FX and related financial market products to target client groups.
• Take complete responsibility for business growth, client onboarding, and revenue generation.
• Identify and capitalize on opportunities to deepen existing client engagements and expand regional outreach.
• Collaborate closely with global teams across sales, trading, risk management, compliance, operations, and technology to provide tailored client solutions.
• Act as the firm's representative in interactions with regulators, clients, counterparties, and other external parties in Singapore.
• Ensure the Singapore operations are fully compliant with regulatory, risk management, and governance frameworks.
• Recruit, manage, and develop a local team aligned with business growth.

Candidate Profile and Requirements

• Possession of a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Banking, or a related discipline.
• At least 15 years of pertinent experience in institutional FX, global markets, or financial services sectors.
• Proven success and solid experience in institutional FX sales and business development across the Asian region.
• Strong network of relationships within institutional and corporate client segments relevant to the role.
• Comprehensive knowledge of FX products, electronic trading execution platforms, and institutional trading needs.
• Additional experience with broader financial market solutions is a plus.
• Demonstrable experience in establishing and growing a business or client franchise.
• In-depth understanding of Singapore’s regulatory environment and proven ability to interact with senior-level internal and external stakeholders.
• Excellent commercial judgment to balance growth, client interests, compliance risks, and governance requirements.
• Entrepreneurial mindset, proactive, and comfortable working within a developing business framework.
• Strong leadership capabilities, excellent communication, and adept stakeholder management skills.
