Cost Controller – Mechanical

About the Company

Our client is a reputable industrial services contractor engaged in supporting prominent oil and gas, petrochemical, and refinery operations throughout Saudi Arabia. Their expertise lies in onshore plant maintenance, shutdown, and turnaround projects, especially focusing on static equipment such as heat exchangers, reactors, vessels, columns, and tanks.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage project budgets, forecasts, and actual spending.
• Keep track of costs related to manpower, materials, equipment, and subcontractors.
• Generate periodic cost reports and analyze variances effectively.
• Validate timesheets, invoices, and use of equipment.
• Supervise scope modifications, extra work, and variations in cost.
• Collaborate closely with Planning, Mechanical, Procurement, Finance, and Project teams.
• Provide support in project cost reconciliation and final close-out reporting.

Candidate Requirements

• Holder of a Mechanical Engineering qualification.
• Experience in cost control within oil and gas, petrochemical, or refinery sectors.
• Preferably experienced in shutdown and turnaround projects.
• Familiar with static equipment maintenance projects.
• Background working with EPC, industrial maintenance, or shutdown contractors.
• Experience working in Saudi Arabia or the broader GCC region is desirable.
• Proficient in Excel, reporting, and data analysis.
• Good command of English communication skills.
• Prepared to work at onshore project locations and handle intensive shutdown schedules, typically around 45 days in duration.
