Role Overview

The position is for a full-time Food Cost Accountant based in Jeddah. The key responsibility is to oversee and regulate food-related expenses concerning purchasing, inventory control, and production processes. Duties include generating and assessing cost reports, scrutinizing daily purchase transactions and stock changes, and reconciling food cost accounts with operational data.

Key Responsibilities

• Create journal entries and assist with month-end financial closing.
• Contribute to preparation of financial statements specific to food cost performance.
• Investigate deviations in costs and collaborate closely with procurement and operations departments to improve cost efficiency.
• Ensure adherence to internal controls and provide transparent financial information to aid managerial decision-making.

Necessary Qualifications and Skills

• Understanding of the food industry operations along with inventory and cost control methodologies.
• Expertise in food cost accounting and controlling, including detailed tracking and analysis of product and recipe/menu costs.
• Minimum of five years' experience as a Food Cost Accountant or in a related role within food manufacturing.
• Accounting proficiency in making journal entries, managing the general ledger, and supporting month-end closures.
• Analytical aptitude to interpret financial data, pinpoint cost discrepancies, and propose solutions.
• Relevant degree or academic credentials in Accounting, Finance, or related disciplines.
• Skills in finance functions such as budgeting, forecasting, and preparing financial reports.
• Competency in accounting software and spreadsheet tools like ERP systems and Microsoft Excel, with high numerical accuracy.
