Overview
The Corporate Excellence Lead role is integral to promoting organizational excellence at the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi). The position focuses on performing maturity assessments, managing cross-departmental initiatives to enhance business processes, and supporting competitiveness reporting aligned with the Abu Dhabi Excellence Award standards and DCT policies. The role aims to embed a culture of continuous improvement and operational efficiency to uphold DCT's status as a leader in business excellence and continuity.
Primary Duties
- Lead the deployment of maturity assessments across all DCT entities, ensuring comprehensive data gathering and insights that drive ongoing improvements.
- Manage the preparation and submission process for the Abu Dhabi Excellence Award applications, collaborating effectively with relevant departments to meet compliance standards.
- Organize and oversee organizational excellence training programs to ensure target participation rates and achievement of educational goals.
- Track and assess Abu Dhabi competitiveness metrics, generating thorough reports and actionable recommendations for executive-level decision-making.
- Facilitate coordination among cross-functional teams to harmonize business excellence projects in alignment with DCT’s strategic priorities.
- Collaborate with department heads to identify process improvement opportunities and champion the implementation of best practices to increase efficiency.
- Assist in the creation and periodic revision of policies, procedures, and tools related to excellence initiatives, ensuring conformity with national standards and DCT guidelines.
- Oversee the monitoring and closure of improvement actions resulting from assessments, guaranteeing timely documentation and follow-up.
Additional Responsibilities
- Perform other role-related tasks as directed by the direct manager.
- Adhere to departmental policies, procedures, and operating standards to maintain consistency and control over work quality.
- Demonstrate adherence to DCT's values and ethics, fostering a culture centered on organizational values.
- Contribute to identifying system, process, and practice enhancements aligned with global standards, productivity gains, and cost reductions.
- Comply with all occupational safety and health (OSH) policies, procedures, and relevant legislation applicable at DCT.
- Report safety-related incidents, near misses, unsafe actions, and hazardous conditions promptly.
- Use necessary personal protective equipment and familiarize oneself with emergency and evacuation protocols.
- Assist with risk assessment preparations as needed, prevent risks to self and others, and cooperate with the OSH officer to ensure a secure workplace.
- Actively engage in DCT's OSH programs and emergency responses.
Communication and Stakeholder Engagement
Maintain close interactions with internal stakeholders across various departments and with relevant external entities to support excellence initiatives and organizational objectives.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Quality Management, or related fields; a Master's degree is preferred.
- Preferred professional certifications in Business Excellence, Quality Management, or similar disciplines.
- Between 5 to 7 years of experience in business excellence, organizational performance, or quality management, preferably within the public sector.

Minimum education
Bachelor's Degree
