Role Overview

This Cook II position involves preparing ingredients such as portioning, chopping, and storing food. Responsibilities include washing and peeling fresh fruits and vegetables, measuring ingredients, and cooking according to recipes and quality standards. The job requires operating kitchen appliances like ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers, testing food doneness, serving portions, and maintaining workstation cleanliness and hygiene.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and portion ingredients; manage food storage.
• Wash and peel fresh produce.
• Measure, weigh, and mix recipe ingredients accurately.
• Cook food ensuring quality, presentation, and checklist compliance.
• Utilize kitchen equipment safely and effectively.
• Ensure food is cooked properly by testing doneness.
• Set up and dismantle workstation pre- and post-shift.
• Serve food in correct portions and on appropriate receptacles.
• Clean and disinfect kitchen areas and tools thoroughly.
• Monitor and verify appliance and food temperatures.
• Adhere to all company policies and safety protocols, reporting any hazards or incidents promptly.
• Maintain professional appearance and confidentiality.
• Communicate clearly and collaborate positively with team members.
• Stand or move for extended periods; handle objects weighing up to 25 pounds without help.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.

Candidate Requirements

• Minimum education level: High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• At least one year experience in a related culinary or food preparation role.
• No supervisory experience required.
• No specific licenses or certifications necessary.
