Shift Details
Evening shift from 1:00 PM to 9:30 PM in LaGrange, GA.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare nutritious and flavorful meals for patient services and retail areas using prescribed recipes and standard culinary methods, including cook/chill processes.
- Adhere strictly to food safety and sanitation standards per HACCP and local health department regulations, especially given our patients' vulnerable immune systems.
- Maintain impeccable hygiene and safety protocols such as regular hand washing, proper glove use, and infection prevention practices.
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and free from hazards; monitor and document temperatures of food and equipment, addressing any deviations promptly.
- Properly label, date, store, and rotate food supplies to ensure freshness and compliance.
- Operate and maintain kitchen equipment safely, escalating any unsafe conditions immediately.
- Arrive punctually and follow assigned shifts including weekends and holidays; efficiently set up, maintain, and dismantle workstations.
- Adhere to written and verbal instructions with precision; complete all required checklists and documentation.
- Demonstrate flexibility by supporting team members across the department as needed to meet service goals.
- Maintain uniform standards, collaborate respectfully with colleagues and leadership, and communicate clearly and courteously.
- Honor cultural diversity among coworkers and patients.
- Utilize culinary skills to prepare menu items, including butchering meats, cutting vegetables, and applying appropriate cooking methods (dry, wet, combination).
- Measure, convert, and scale recipes accurately to maintain quality and consistency.
- Perform additional duties as assigned, while complying with all organizational policies and codes of conduct.
Qualifications and Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent experience preferred.
- Proficient in English communication and basic math skills.
- Successful completion of mandatory computer-based training and examinations.
- Knowledge and adherence to food safety protocols in a healthcare food service setting.
- Required certification: ServSafe Food Handler.
